No matter how hard it is for me to take in, Brett Favre has retired once again, but this time I believe it’s for good. I would of liked for him to go out on a great win, but you can’t always get what you want. On the upside, his career was one of a kind. He was never about the money, he played the game with a childlike essence, and he brought the fun back into the league. Now personally I don’t care what you say about him, I still believe that on paper, he is the greatest quarterback ever, and I will forever stick to that. I can talk for days about him but I think I’m just going to leave it at that.

After a 9-7 regular season finish, the Arizona Cardinals were basically given no chance at progressing past the first round of the NFL Playoffs. From their very first playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons I thought they were going to lose. But as you know, I was wrong. The following week, the Cardinals earned themselves a trip to the house of the Carolina Panthers. I gave the Cardinals no chance to win this game due to the backfield duo of Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart for the Panthers. Once again I was wrong. Kurt Warner led the Cardinals to a 33-13 stomping of the Panthers. Once the game was over, all Arizona had to do was wait. Wait for the results of the Eagles-Giants match-up. If the Eagles were to win, Arizona would end up hosting the NFC Championship for the first time in franchise history. If the Giants won, the Cardinals would have to travel to the Meadowlands in New York City. Prior to the Panther game, Arizona was winless on the east coast, so a game in New York in the middle of January did not sound good. The Sunday games played through and the results were in. For the first time in franchise history, the Arizona Cardinals would be hosting an NFC Championship game. After consecutive wins, Arizona was finally gaining some respect. People were starting to pick the Cardinals to win the game against Philadelphia. Those who thought that were correct. The hype of the home crowd helped the Cardinals win over the Eagles. This win gave Arizona a ticket to Tampa Bay, FL, the site of the 2009 Super Bowl.

As I’ve made apparent before, I am a sports fanatic. As of right now I am actually watching sportscenter in class. So of course, the places I must visit have some relation to sports.
First, I have to go to Lambeau Field, the mecca of Professional Football. American Football, not that European stuff. Lambeau Field was the first stadium to have its own Hall of Fame. Vince Lombardi, the greatest coach in football history, called Lambeau not only his office, but his home. Brett Favre, ahem, BRETT FAVRE played sixteen years of his outstanding career at the Frozen Tundra. Statistically he’s only the greatest quarterback to toss the pigskin. But I’m not going to get started on Brett Favre because you’d be reading this forever.
The next place I must visit is ESPN Studios. AHH! For one, that is my dream job. I would love to work for the self-proclaimed, Worldwide Leader in Sports. It’s the place where I would go and never leave. It would feel like home, being that everything about that place is wrapped around sports. It’s a place I could finally visit if Coach would of scheduled Bristol, CT as a stop for our spring break trip. Didn’t happen. Oh well, I’ll get there someday.
Finally, I would love to visit. Agusta, GA, the home of the one and only Masters. I get all excited thinking about walking along all 18 holes, seeing the Amen Corner. It’s the site where names like Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, and even the Tiger himself put on the green jacket to permenantly carve their name in history. Some of the sport of golf’s greatest moments happened on those very greens.
There are so many more places I would love to visit, but I only really want to discuss 3. That being said. So long for now.

It is only the 6th week in the College Football season and there have already been plenty of surprises. Big game upsets, Top 25 shakeups, and cinderella stories. But one thing that has not surprised anyone, is the outstanding, title contending team Missouri has this year. They’ve only played four games, but they have already shown that they are a force to be reckoned with. The 4th team in the nation has compiled stats that rank among the top five in Total Yards, Yards Per Game(YPG), Pass Yards Per Game(PYPG), and Total Points, and that’s only on the offensive side of the ball.
Senior quarterback, Chase Daniel, has proved that size doesn’t matter in order to play the position. He has outstretched his 5′ 11″ frame, which is thought of as being too short to play the position, by putting up numbers that even a quarterback twice his height would have trouble doing.
Jeremy Maclin, receiver in his sophomore year, picked up from where he left off last season. Maclin is a quadruple threat that can score off a reception, rush, punt return, or kick return, which basically means, he can single handedly change the game.
The defense returned a whopping ten starters from last season, who last year held the nation’s top offense to only 10 points.
There are high expectations for the the Tigers’ 2008 season, that result in nothing less than a BCS Bowl game. And with the team Coach Gary Pinkel has crafted this year, I’m sure it’s quite a possibility.
